Arrival in Odessa, Ukraine

Greetings! We have arived in Odessa safely and have moved all of the wonderful gifts you sent to Grace Baptist Church. It is taking some time to catch up to the time change. We are 8 hours ahead of you here! We are visiting with American missionaries tonight and preparing for the two hour church service tomorrow morning. We look forward to seeing friends again and worshipping together. This afternoon we drove out to the small town of Fontanka to see the Transition House where the older children will live (after they reach 18) in prepartion for college, trade school or life in general. Some of the windows have been installed before we arrived. It is such a thrill to see this building take shape knowing what an impact it will have on some many lives. Thank you for your prayers of safety for out travel. We felt the calm and peace that only comes from the grace of God through the Holy Spirit. Peace to you!

  • I was trying to find a different blog about our school's mission trip to Odessa, Ukraine and I came across yours. For some reason my computer isn't letting me see any pictures. Our school and my son and I have gone to Odessa the last 4-5 years and we minister to the orphans at their summer camp. We are so in love with these children. We go to two different churches when we are there because of our missoniary and our translators. We have gone to Grace a few times and love it. I am guess you may know Tolik and his sister, Tanya. They are wonderful freinds of ours and they translate for us.
Just wanted to say hi as a fellow missionary in the Ukraine! : )

  • We had the blog hosted on a different website and when we moved the blog post we lost some of the photos. Sorry about that. We have folks who go to Odessa several times a year so we should have some additional photos. Pastor Bandura came to visit our church earlier this year. You can find details on our the Journey blog hosted at our website http://www.whbconline.org
